In order to give you the best of Dallas, Whitewaller spoke with gallerist Erin Cluley, who shared her favorite spots in the city.
FAVORITE SPOT TO FIND INSPIRATION
Maybe it’s the small-town girl in me, but when I see our city’s beautiful skyline, I’m reminded to continue dreaming big. I have found love, started a family, grown my business, and found lasting friendships here in Dallas. The city, the people, and the opportunities here continue to inspire me.
BEST OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH PLACE TO SEE ART
Though my gallery has moved from West Dallas into the Design District, I still send people over to my old stomping grounds. From the dozens of Wild West Mural Fest murals (for which I collaborated with mural artist Wheron for the inaugural edition) to the Sweet Pass Sculpture Park to the Deadbolt Studios (where ECG artist Zeke Williams has his studio), West Dallas continues to be an exciting hub for alternative, creative spaces.
BEST KEPT SECRET IN LOS ANGELES
LDU is an Australian coffee shop and our favorite weekend spot. My husband (and Aussie ex-pat) and our 2.5-year-old Lachlan go every Saturday morning. The word is out — LDU has amazing coffee. People who are serious about their beans have figured it out. But their babyccinos and toasties are their best-kept secrets.
